The Shores of Black Lake: Track 8 on the album.
A medium to up-tempo Pat Moore original; Pat wrote this song about the cottage her family built when she was a young girl. Located outside Perth Ontario, on Black Lake, the cottage was a major influence in her formative years. The scattering of bits of mica from a nearby mine; the fun of being near Rose's Landing - a gathering place for youth...this all ended when Pat was 16 and her dad passed away at an early age. Though a personal story, it's one many can relate to. Beautiful clear vocals with a strong trio chorus. |
