Welcome to Maple Hill's Website

Maple Hill is an award winning bluegrass band who brings energy, emotion, and entertainment to their show. Built on the foundation that "it's all about the song", the band delivers strong vocals supported by tasteful instrumental backup rooted in traditional sound, yet fresh and inspiring .

Co-founders Garry Greenland and Pat Moore are joined by banjo player Sean Lundy, who is quickly "earning his stripes" as a solid and well respected musician, and Kevin Golka who has returned to Maple Hill to fill out the sound with his solid bluesy mandolin, and great vocals.

We invite you to walk through our site...and come out to our performances - you'll be happy you did!

Maple Hill - Then and Now!

"It was 20 Years ago today"...well, it wasn't St. Pepper exactly, but Maple Hill was founded over 20 years ago, playing throughout the Ontario, eastern Quebec, and northern New York State.  After winning "Recording of the Year" in 1988, band members moved on to other projects. A veteran of bluegrass, Garry Greenland continued to teach banjo, mandolin, and "band class" to many of the Ottawa area bluegrass enthusiasts, as well as performing with Mike O'Reilly, Dave Nichols and Spare Change, and Hard Ryde. Garry has also been busy with session work, and record production.

Pat Moore picked up the pen and in 2003 recorded her first collection of original songs. Her CD "The Time's Never Been Better" is a collection of roots songs using bluegrass instrumentation, and features Canadian greats Ray Legère, Steve Pitticco, and Bluegrass veterans Dick Smith and Junior Barber.  In 2007 Pat was invited to include an original song on the North to Ontario Bluegrass complilation CD produced by Gene Gouthro, and so recorded her song "Lone Pine Standing".  Her second full length CD, a collection of mostly original songs written to sound like 1950's-60's country pop, came out in 2006. The feedback on both these works has been great!
